Sony Ericsson Xpreia Arc S is a great smart phone, but it has a minor fault - it auto reboots from time to time.
Great majority of Xperia Arc S owners had this problem with their phone, and the official Sony Ericsson statement regarding this issue was that they noted this fault, but they have no idea where this came from, nor how to overcome it.
This auto reboot can be really annoying since you don't know when to expect it.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S users have been serching for the solution of auto rebooting problem, and this is what they've found:
Xperia Arc S has a fabrique fault - the phone looses connection with the battery, and than it reboots.
All the batteries lay pretty tight in their housings, and althoug it seems there is no chance your battery will loose the connection with your phone - it happens.
This also results in a smaller battery capacity (it discharges faster).
- remove the battery cover
- remove the battery
- put a small piece of paper between the bottom edge of the battery hoousing and the battery (the side opposite of the battery connectors, so the piece of papper pushes the battery towards the battery connectors)
- put the battery back
-turn on your phone
The problem is solved - your Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S will never auto reboot again, and your battery will last a bit longer!

I dont think thss is our solution... i have two arc s and after a rom update the restart begins...
ReplyDeletei 've same problm..
Deletefollow these steps for solution
remove sim
restart phone thn go to setting -wireless networks-more-mobile n/w-n/w operator
here u select search mode manual thn select ur nw in 2g mode(ex. vodaphn 2g or airte2g etc)
DONT SELECT 3G NW
& bang......enjoy
It is probably because the new OS drains more power from the battery. Have you tried our solution? There are thousands of arc s users all over the web that have solved this problem this way. You can find their opinions on every forum that discusses this issue.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there are some other cases of auto restart that are connected to the rom updates, but this one certainly helps is a great majority of cases.
no this is not a solution i start it and place it on a table with no movement and still restarts. how is it possible if its battery is loose and it re-tight by it self or what ?
DeleteDear all, help needed!

Using Android 4.0.4
Bulid number - 4.1.B.0.587
Is there any solution? Appreciate your help!
sony in need of lawsuit crap phone
DeleteThis is not permanent solution.can you please tell me some other solution for this problem ??
ReplyDeleteSony Ericsson Xperia Arc
There is no other solution to this problem. Even sony has acknowledged this problem and admitted they have no solution to this problem.
ReplyDeleteThis page is made based on experiences of thousands of people who has solved this problem this way. All of them say that this problem never occured again, after applying this solution.
Maybe the piece of paper you put is not thick enough. If you have an official version of software, there is no software malfunction that causes this problem. Try to fix the battery as firmly as possible.
i this way problem can,t be solved at all, still restart continously , showing sony , then xpria and again restart.... plz help me

DeleteYou gotta be kidding :| come on!! really? you think that a small piece of paper will solve the issue? We paid for a working phone not for a phone that keeps restarting and you suggest to put paper???????????I've tried all the solutions and none of this work :| it restarts even when I am trying to open an application !!!!!!! or send a text message ... the solution was to remove from the market all the phones and replace them or refund..at least half of the amount :| you suck people
ReplyDeleteSince I updated the phone stalls or reboots. Sometimes it runs for hours mostly just minutes. Can't find any reason, no one app keeps failing, it just stops even in the middle of a call
ReplyDeleteSeriously... I agree, refund these phones as there is no solution... from a piece of paper to a full software original update... the arc is an embarresment to sony!!! please do something!!!

ReplyDeleteim having problem with my xperia arc, with it not having any storage left. i have a sd card with all pics on there and i have no games on my phone. but i still have no room i think its from all the pre-loaded stuff that was on there when i got my phone. but iam wondering if there is a way to delete these?? please help!
ReplyDeleteGo to Settings/Storage and check out your phone (not SD card) storage status. Then remove unnecessary apps or any other data and you will gain more storage space. Apps can be unninstalled from Setting/Apps. Just sellect the unwanted app and click on uninstall.

ReplyDeleteMy xperia arc s is rebooting automatically. It do not stop to reboot once it starts. It's second time i'm facing such problem. Previously i got chance to reset my phone but this time it continuously reboot and do not stop. What is going on with my phone? Can anyone help me to get rid of such please..looking forward for the solutions.
ReplyDeletei also had the same problem with xperia arc s and i repaired it and it is working good . but the thing is, its not something i can tell you like this
DeleteHi I have now had the experia arc s for nearly two years now.
ReplyDeleteyes if was a Spain in the but. Having Ll the problems that have been mentioned.
but since I started app backup solution, the loss of data was not a problem anymore.
Also if you UE Google calendar and contacts, that data becomes secure as well.
As far as the battery is concerned, the contacts are very poor and need cleaning very often.
Sometimes a specific procedure is the only way to start the phone if the battery is swapped.
Ie: step 1
Discharge phone by holding the start button for 40 secs.
Then wait 1min.
Next place newly charged battery into compartment.
Make sure the terminals on both the phone and batty are freshly cleaned using a fibreglass pen brush.
Tighten the battery into the contacts, by lifting it slightly in and out pivoting the terminals together.
Finally wait 1min, the press start for 4 secs.
Providing the battery is fully charged, the phone should start first time, every time.
Good luck!
it worked like magic...
ReplyDeletemy phone start rebotting whenever i switch on the bluetooth

ReplyDeleteI am really fed up with my arc s. I have had two Sony phones a K800i that froze completely & needed a software download to put it right & this Arc S that keeps stopping. I like the Xperia Z but I am afraid to buy another Sony & we are a Sony household TVs, DVD recorder & players Camera`s both still & video so you can imagine my disappointment with their phones.
ReplyDeleteMy last phone was a HTC, I might try another next time.
Had the same problem but I fixed it in a simple way. Its in the bluetooth. maybe before your phone first shut down and restart automatically, you left the bluetooth on. How I fixed it? in some xperia like mine, when it automatically restart, after the Sony and Xperia showed up, there is still a 10 sec before it restart. What i did is I open the settings and turned off the bluetooth within that 10 sec. after i turned off, it restart but its back to normal. try this solution if you only left you bluetooth on before it auto restart. I just did this 20 mins after I typed this. hope it help to you too. :) :) :)
ReplyDeletethis also fixed my problem try holding back button when phone starting to boot up and the usual menu icon will showed up.then try turn off bluetooth within 10 sec.phone will restart for the last time and will back to normal state
Deletemy sony xperia arc keeps on restarting and there is MMI code error
ReplyDeletehi guys. i have a sony xperia arc s. when i try to open/start my phone, it will turn off eventually after the xperia logo appears. it will restart on its own and again, turn off after the xperia logo. this will just repeat and will not start the phone properly. i have to remove the battery to turn the phone off. i had it checked in cellphone repair shops. they told me that my phone's program is defective and i have to reprogram/reformat the phone. is there a way that i can reprogram the phone myself and avoid any repair costs? i can't open the phone so i can't do the hard reset or restore factory settings. thanks.

ReplyDeletehey dude! try this solution,, pull the batery out for about 10 sec. put it back and turn it on while pressing the back button until the phone boots up... if this one works try to update ur phones software to fix the bluetooth problem.
Delete@shuvo, did this happend after updating firmware thru pc companion? Same thing happend to mine. What i did is downloaded sony updater (forgot the name. DEFINITELY NOT pc companion), install in on your pc. Remove your phone battery to stop the boot loop, then just follow the instructions. Hope this helps. Also, i think gingerbread works better than ics. For my arc s atleast.
